Founders' Day 2019 has a strong arts theme running throughout. Professor Andy Westwood will talk about observations he has on the future challenges and opportunities for arts and the humanities in Higher Education. He will be sharing personal anecdotes from his interesting and diverse career, from his early years working at the University of Manchester’s Students’ Union, through to his Special Adviser roles within Government and subsequent career across HE.
Professor Westwood is a social responsibility
expert, the former President of the OECD’s Forum for
Social Innovation and an adviser at the IMF. Andy is Professor of Government
Practice and Vice Dean of Humanities at the University of Manchester and a Visiting
Professor of Further and Higher Education at the University of Wolverhampton.
