This event, organised by the Bacchus Society of the Oxford School of Hospitality Management, will bring together students, academics, alumni, practitioners and all those who strive to close the gender gap amongst leaders in the international hospitality and tourism industry.
Whilst women’s representation in the labour market has increased by more than a third in the last twenty-five years, by 2010 they still only made up 12.5% of corporate boards of FTSE 100 companies.
Is this a pattern that is reflected in international hospitality and tourism, and if so, what can be done about it? Is discriminatory practice at play – how can companies be persuaded or compelled to change their approach – and what tactics should women adopt to break through the glass ceiling?
Hear from five leading figures about their own career progression, and about their efforts to affect change in organisations.
This event is not only for women who aspire to leadership in hospitality and tourism, but for all (men and women) who aspire to lead with integrity and professionalism.
