The Faculty of Technology, Design and Environment at Oxford Brookes University will present award-winning student work in a series of end of year shows beginning this month.

The shows will feature a broad and exciting portfolio of work from the Schools of Arts, Architecture, Built Environment and Engineering, Computing and Mathematics, highlighting the wealth of creative activities being undertaken by students across the faculty’s many disciplines.

Paul Inman, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of Technology, Design and Environment commented: “Oxford Brookes University has a long and distinguished history of educating artists, engineers and designers. The Faculty of Technology, Design and Environment is the current home to much of this specific deep disciplinary expertise in Architecture and the Built Environment, Automotive Engineering, Fine Art, Publishing, Computing, Film, Digital Media, Music and Mathematics. The ‘objects’ on show this year will delight, unsettle, inspire and challenge in equal measure.”

Matt Gaskin, Head of the School of Architecture, added: “We are supremely excited about this year’s event. Over 30 awards were handed to Oxford Brookes University students last year. Industry awards have included the prestigious Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Oxfordshire Branch prize, awarded to a first year student for best portfolio showing consistency of ability and progress.”

A number of industry professionals come to the University to view the student work, giving the final year students an opportunity to network with potential employers.

Commenting on last year’s Architecture End of Year Show James Collins, Managing Director of Leslie Jones Architecture, said:  “The standard that I have seen in terms of graphic capabilities, the intelligence and maturity is evident. I haven’t been back to see an architecture show like this for quite some time and I find it quite exciting.”
