BrookesTV has two more National Student Television Association awards to add to the trophy cabinet.

BrookesTV has won two more National Student Television Association awards.

The team won the ‘Best Live’ and ‘Best Animation’ categories at the ceremony held in Glasgow. Best Live was thanks to the Brookes Factor event which took place at the Students’ Union last year while Best Animation was down to the work of Paul Pryke.

This is the third time a team from BrookesTV has attended the awards – and picked up gongs. Last year it was highly commended as Best Broadcaster while in 2008 it won Best Broadcaster and was highly commended for news as well as music.

About 260 other students from more than 25 student TV stations from around the UK attended the awards ceremony.

BrookesTV Producer Joe Carr said: “To win twice at this year’s NaSTA awards is amazing, but there are special reasons for being even happier with the result. Winning the Best Live award is great because we put so much effort into the Brookes Factor and the whole team will be proud, but also to win Best Animation is a historic success as this was the first year animation was even a category.”

He added: “We have the support from the University and the facilities and motivation from the Students’ Union to thank for us getting this far.”
