The ever-growing numbers of people engaging with Oxford Brookes via social media has reached a significant milestone.
The University’s hugely popular Facebook group now has more than 100,000 likes - more than enough people to fill Wembley Stadium.
Oxford Brookes continues to extend its commitment in engaging with current and prospective students, as well as its wider community, digitally and this latest landmark is a further indication of this.

The University recognises social media’s increasingly important role in further enhancing the student experience and development of external relations.
Tim Gibson is the University’s Social and Digital Media Manager and has recently delivered presentations on best-practice to colleagues across the sector at conferences held by Universities UK and CASE.
He commented: “We are extremely proud of our social media community. These channels are a quick and effective way for the University to connect with large numbers of people. More importantly, they provide a platform for the building of lasting, two-way engagement.
“To have over 100,000 people shaping the conversation about Oxford Brookes through our Facebook group is of real benefit to the University and we look forward to our community continuing to grow.”
This news follows a report last year which ranked Oxford Brookes in the top five most social media-connected Universities in the UK.
Over 1 million minutes of videos have been viewed on Brookes’ YouTube channel, while the University’s Twitter account has more than 17,000 followers.
