Monday, 09 May 2016
Oxford Brookes Fine Art graduates of 2016 will present their multimedia degree show titled ‘Off The Wall’ this week.
The exhibition will begin on Saturday 14 May in the Glass Tank gallery on the Headington Campus and will feature work in a diverse range of media including paintings, sculpture, printmaking, installation and photographic and film work.
Ella Shepard, third-year BA Fine Art student said: “We are a mixed group of emerging artists in our final year of studies at Oxford Brookes. Over the last few years we have been tackling various ideas and concepts, creating a body of work exploring the making of Fine Art in the contemporary art world.
“All of this work has led to us funding and organising our final degree show which is an exciting and challenging event to really put our work out in to the industry and to the general public.
“Students have been tackling everything from political work about the refugee crisis, harnessing primal forces, human condition and experiences, heritage, the environment and nature as well as the body in art and much more.
“We aim for the degree show to be engaging a thought-provoking event which allows the audience to interact and immerse themselves within all the work produced.”
A number of the graduating artists will also be exhibiting at Free Range in London between 7 – 11 July. Free Range is a project set up to provide new creative graduates with the opportunity to showcase their work on an international level.
The Fine Art Degree Show exhibition will run daily between 10.00am and 6.00pm until 20 May in the Glass Tank. A private viewing of the exhibition will take place on Friday 13 May between 6.00pm and 8.00pm in the Richard Hamilton Building, Headington Hill site.
