Interim Pro Vice Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Exchange announced

Professor Linda King has been appointed as Interim Pro Vice Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Exchange at Oxford Brookes.
Professor Alistair Fitt, who was previously in the role before becoming Vice Chancellor last month, commented: “Linda has excellent experience of research here at Oxford Brookes and more widely across the sector.
"She has been very successful in her role as Associate Dean for Research and Knowledge Exchange and I look forward to her implementing this expertise across the institution and driving forward the University’s research agenda.”
Professor King responded the announcement by saying: “It is a great honour to be leading on research and knowledge exchange at Oxford Brookes. We have recently received excellent recognition for the fantastic work of our research community through our Research Excellence Framework results.
"I look forward to building on this success through working with colleagues from across the University.”

Following the completion of her doctorate in molecular virology at the University of Oxford in 1985, Linda’s research has focused on understanding the biology of insect viruses and on their exploitation in agriculture, medicine and biotechnology. She is co-founding director of a joint Brookes and Natural Environment Research Council spin-out biotech company.
Professor King has been a Professor of Virology at Oxford Brookes since 1998 and was previously Dean of the School of Life Sciences for eight years until her appointment as Associate Dean, Research and Knowledge Exchange for the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences in 2011.
