New Registrar and Chief Operating Officer appointed for Oxford Brookes University

Brendan Casey has been appointed as the new Registrar and Chief Operating Officer at Oxford Brookes University and is due to take on the role from 30 March 2016.
Brendan is currently the Director of Academic Services at the University of Birmingham and brings with him significant experience. A graduate of the National University of Ireland (Maynooth) and the University of Wales, he has worked in higher education since 1994. He has significant experience in administration, programme management, information services and change management.

Speaking on the appointment, Vice Chancellor Professor Alistair Fitt said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Brendan Casey to this crucial role for the University.

The appointment is part of succession planning for the retirement of the University’s current Registrar, Paul Large. Paul will be taking flexible retirement from April 2016 and, as part of this, will continue in a part-time capacity to provide additional oversight of our estates and IT strategies for a period of time.
