OSEP to award £21,000 to local community social enterprises

A total of £21,000 is to be awarded to local social enterprises when Oxfordshire Social Entrepreneurship Partnership (OSEP) announces its first round of funding on Tuesday (3rd February).
OSEP is managed and operated as a joint partnership between Oxford Brookes University, University of Oxford and Student Hubs.
The four winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony and networking forum on Tuesday evening at The Hatch, Little Clarendon Street, Oxford. In addition, as part of the forum, local and potential social entrepreneurs will be able to discuss what kind of support OESP should offer in the future.

OSEP was launched in September 2013 as a ‘one stop shop’ to support social entrepreneurs operating in any sector across the country to help plan, develop and grow their businesses through funding support, advice and guidance opportunities.
Applications for this first round of OSEP Community Awards opened in Autumn 2013 and nine were shortlisted. These applications went forward to the OSEP steering group, made up of prepresentatives from the two universities, Student Hubs and the local social entrepreneur network who whittled this down to the four winners.

Applications for the Oxford Brookes Social Entrepreneur Awards (OBSEA) ‘Try It, Do It and Build It’are now open until the 20th February. OBSEA is an award-winning programme for students, staff and recent graduates who wish to set up and run a social enterprise.
