Out of the Blue release 2015 Christmas charity single for Helen and Douglas House

Oxford’s all-male a cappella group, Out of the Blue, has released their 2015 Christmas charity single to raise money for local children’s hospice Helen and Douglas House.
The group, which is made up of students from University of Oxford and Oxford Brookes University, chose to reinvent Christmas favourite Santa Baby following the success of their cover versions of Shakira’s Hips Don’t Lie and Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas last year.
Santa Baby is perfect for us because we don’t take ourselves too seriously but do cherish the opportunity to raise thousands for charity.Deon Fang, President of Out of the Blue
Samuel Swinnerton, Out of the Blue member and Associate
Lecturer in Music at Oxford Brookes said: “We had such a great time making the
video, it’s really exciting to see it reach so many people.”
“Santa Baby is perfect for us because we don’t take ourselves too seriously but do cherish the opportunity to raise thousands for charity while putting our own spin on the timeless classic,” added Out of the Blue President Deon Fang.
Last year’s singles raised around £15,000 collectively for Helen and Douglas House, the world’s first children’s hospice which relies almost entirely on donations. Helen and Douglas House provide the best possible care for children and young adults with life-shortening conditions, and support for their families.
The track can be bought via the group’s website and all profits from the single will be donated to the charity.
Out of the Blue is considered one of the UK’s top a capella talents and was founded in 2000. In 2011 the group reached the live semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent and last year reached world-wide fame after both of their charity single videos went viral.
