Oxford Brookes amongst 'world’s top universities' for 13 subjects in 2020 global rankings

QS World Rankings 2020

Oxford Brookes University has been ranked amongst the 'world’s top universities' in 13 subjects in the latest QS World University Rankings - up from 12 in 2019.

A particular highlight is Hospitality & Leisure Management, which retains its top ten place, ranked number nine in the world. 

QS states that Oxford Brookes is amongst the world’s top universities for the following subjects: 

  • Accounting and Finance

  • Architecture and Built Environment 

  • Biological Sciences

  • Business & Management Studies

  • Computer Science & Information Systems

  • Economics and Econometrics

  • Education

  • Engineering - Mechanical, Aeronautical & Manufacturing

  • English Language and Literature 

  • Hospitality & Leisure Management

  • Law

  • Modern Languages

  • Politics & International Studies

The University also ranked in two of the ranking’s broader subject areas. These are:

• Arts and Humanities

• Social Sciences and Management

Professor Alistair Fitt, Vice-Chancellor of Oxford Brookes University said:

This latest ranking success adds to a long list of achievements for Oxford Brookes.

For three consecutive years, Oxford Brookes has been distinguished as the UK’s top university in the QS Top 50 Under 50 World University Rankings. The University remains the only UK institution to make the list.

This is in addition to Oxford Brookes’ world-leading research being recognised last year with the UK’s number one status in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings 2019. The global ranking also placed Oxford Brookes as the UK’s second highest performing university for teaching.
