Oxford Brookes Business School has improved on its top ten position in the latest ranking of the world’s best online Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).

To be among the global elite, we have ensured that our online provision is underpinned by the same teaching and learning philosophy we apply for those studying on campus

Today’s announcement of the QS World University Rankings: Distance Online MBA marks the fifth straight year that Oxford Brookes’ Global MBA has been ranked amongst the world’s ten best institutions and now sits in seventh place.

Chris Blackburn, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean, Oxford Brookes Business School, said: “Oxford Brookes University is delighted to have improved its ranking position and to have been recognised as one of the world’s best online MBA providers by QS.

“To be among the global elite, we have ensured that our online provision is underpinned by the same teaching and learning philosophy we apply for those studying on campus.

Chris continued: “We deliver a highly personal and collaborative approach which builds on thirty years of experience in the exchanging of ideas and concepts and full integration within the personal and professional development journey. This suits the needs of modern MBA students with a genuinely global learning network for experienced, working professionals.

“We’ve also evolved to meet the changing needs of our students through the development of a more flexible, blended and interactive program to meet increasingly busy and dynamic lifestyles.”

The QS ranking, the largest global ranking of its kind, uses a methodology which emphasises graduate employability as a determinant of quality and makes use of six metric groups to determine an institution’s final score.

The global higher education analysts, best-known for compiling the QS World University Rankings, launched the table as an attempt to pioneer independent, robust comparisons of online education courses.

Speaking as Oxford Brookes was announced amongst the world’s best, Nunzio Quacquarelli, CEO at QS (Quacquarelli Symonds), said: “Online education has unambiguously come of age in recent years, and employers are increasingly likely to acknowledge the value that can be provided by distance learning programs.

“Online education is here to stay, and will require the same type of quality assurance that rankings provide to students taking presence-learning courses.”

Oxford Brookes University was one of the innovators and forerunners in provision of the distance learning MBA and blended (online and face-to-face) MBA programmes.  It provides a flexible MBA programme designed for busy working professionals.

Oxford Brookes attracts professionals across different industries, institutions and geographies, giving MBA candidates the opportunity to make global connections and build a truly diverse professional network.

This QS Distance Online MBA ranking success is just the latest in a long list of achievements for Oxford Brookes. Last week (20 June 2018), for the second year in a row Oxford Brookes was hailed as the UK’s top university in the QS Top 50 Under 50 Ranking. The University also moved up to 40th in the world within the rankings and is again the only UK institution to make the list.

Earlier this month (6 June 2018), the institution was recognised as the top UK university for both teaching and research in the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings 2018.

Last month (30 May), Oxford Brookes also climbed nine places in the Guardian University Guide. This was the second consecutive year the University has improved in the Guardian’s rankings with five subject areas considered amongst the UK’s top universities.

In April, Oxford Brookes was ranked in the top 20 institutions in the UK for ten subject areas in The Complete University Guide 2019. This is in addition to the University’s international reputation for the quality of its courses being recognised in the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject which found Oxford Brookes to be “ranked amongst the world’s top universities” in 14 individual subject areas.
