Oxford Brookes congratulates Chancellor Katherine Grainger on becoming a Dame
Tuesday, 07 March 2017
Oxford Brookes’ Chancellor Katherine Grainger has been officially made a Dame Commander by Queen Elizabeth II in a special investiture ceremony today at Buckingham Palace.
As announced in the New Year’s Honours list, the award was made in recognition of Dame Katherine Grainger’s services to rowing and charity.
Professor Alistair Fitt, Vice-Chancellor, commented: “Everyone at Oxford Brookes is so proud of our Chancellor and her latest accolade. Katherine is a real inspiration to our staff and students and it is entirely fitting for her to have received this significant honour. For the past two years, we have benefitted greatly from Katherine being our Chancellor and on behalf of Oxford Brookes I wish to personally congratulate her on this special day.”
