The University also moved up to 40th in the world within the rankings and is again the only UK institution to make the list.

Professor Alistair Fitt, Vice-Chancellor, said: “To be recognised as the UK’s top university in this latest ranking is a great honour. To achieve such a fantastic accolade for a second year running is an even greater achievement. It demonstrates an unyielding commitment to our students and to ensuring that we provide world-leading teaching, research and support.

“The international reputation of Oxford Brookes is such that when I speak to people from across the globe, they recognise the excellent qualities of this very special institution. I have no doubt that our latest ranking success will only enhance this.

This is the second time this month that Oxford Brookes has been recognised as a top performing university in the UK.

Just two weeks ago (6 June 2018), the institution was recognised as the top UK university for both teaching and research in the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings 2018.

Last month (30 May), Oxford Brookes also climbed nine places in the Guardian University Guide. This was the second consecutive year the University has improved in the Guardian’s rankings and sees the University remain in the top 50 institutions in the UK, with five subject areas considered amongst the UK’s top universities.

In April, Oxford Brookes was ranked in the top 20 institutions in the UK for ten subject areas in The Complete University Guide 2019.

This is in addition to the University’s international reputation for the quality of its courses being recognised in the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject which found Oxford Brookes to be “ranked amongst the world’s top universities” in 14 individual subject areas.
