Bill Roache at Brookes for son's Graduation.

Proud Corrie star, Bill Roache MBE, watched his son graduate from Oxford Brookes University on Friday 5 September.

21-year-old Will Roache was awarded a BSc (Hons) 2:1 in Communications, Media and Culture with Anthropology and is planning to pursue an acting career.

Speaking before the ceremony, Bill Roache, said: “Graduation is a big milestone. It signals the end of the academic side of life and getting into the big wide world. Will was very happy at Brookes and really enjoyed it. It’s very friendly and he enjoyed the freedom and the social side.”

Will added: “I’m very proud to have been at Oxford Brookes. It’s been a really good experience and I’ll miss it. I didn’t want it to end.”

Also joining the proud parents, family and friends at one of Friday’s graduation ceremonies was His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei who saw his son - His Royal Highness Prince Hj Abdul Azim - receive a Bachelor of Science honours degree in Politics and International Relations.

More than 3000 Oxford Brookes students are graduating at ceremonies running from 5-12 September.
