Wednesday, 22 June 2016
Oxford Brookes will once more be part of the premier business networking event in Oxfordshire for entrepreneurs, innovators, investors and business support – Venturefest Oxford 2016.
Taking place on Wednesday 29 June at the King’s Centre in Osney Mead, Venturefest Oxford will feature an impressive line-up of guest speakers, from Lisa Thomas, Global Head of Brand and Managing Director at Virgin Enterprises to Bianca Miller, 2014 runner-up of BBC One’s Apprentice.
Business Managers from Oxford Brookes will be on hand in the Networking Zone (Cotswold Hall, Stand 7) to speak to attendees about how they can access expert advice, research and consultancy from the University in a wide range of areas including architecture, sustainable construction, digital marketing, social care and robotics.
We are proud of our strong links with business and industry at Oxford Brookes both in the UK and internationally. I would encourage people to come along to Venturefest and take the opportunity to speak to our staff about the innovative partnerships and initiatives that are thriving at the University.Professor Alistair Fitt, Vice-Chancellor, Oxford Brookes University
Some of the innovative products that have arisen from Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) with Oxford Brookes will be featured at the event; including Aircharge, the wireless charging devices developed during a two-year KTP and VuQ, a set of tools for recording, mapping and testing the visual character and quality of places, spaces, streets and landscapes by the objective analysis of images.
KTPs are a tried-and- tested government programme which brings an ambitious graduate, supported by a university specialist, into a company to lead a project and make a difference with a better product, an innovation or improved process.
Professor Alistair Fitt, Vice-Chancellor of Oxford Brookes University and Board Member for Venturefest Oxford said: “Venturefest Oxford has gone from strength to strength since it first began almost 20 years ago, and has proved to be a fantastic gateway for connecting entrepreneurs and innovators with investors and advisors at all stages of the business lifecycle.
“We are proud of our strong links with business and industry at Oxford Brookes both in the UK and internationally. I would encourage people to come along to Venturefest and take the opportunity to speak to our staff about the innovative partnerships and initiatives that are thriving at the University.”
