The University has undertaken extensive work to ensure that students, staff and essential visitors were safe on their return to campus in Semester 1. This encompassed many different areas - from risk assessments and enhanced cleaning, to social distancing measures and modifications to reduce campus footfall.
Before students returned home for Christmas, the University established four testing centres offering rapid Covid-19 tests to help stop the spread of the virus to family and friends. Almost 4,000 tests were performed.
When students return in the New Year, these testing centres will reopen to enable students to test and then self-isolate if necessary. Students will also return to campus in a staggered way over a period of five weeks.
For an overview of how we're planning for students to return to university in the New Year, please see our dedicated webpage for Semester 2 arrangements.
We have published a Five Steps process to working safely at Oxford Brookes, which aligns with Government guidance on reopening workplaces.
We have appropriate plans and procedures in place to act rapidly as the situation changes.
