  • Overview

    The MBA apprenticeship is an intensive and demanding course designed for the rising stars in your organisation who need to fit studying into their busy working lifestyle. The Oxford Brookes Global MBA will broaden their knowledge and encourage it to be applied in a range of situations. Delivered by an experienced team of tutors, this degree apprenticeship will prepare participants to meet the challenges of the increasingly dynamic international business environment.

  • Modules and teaching overview

    The course runs for 36 months. Apprentices study the equivalent of one day a week 'off the job' training both online and on-campus, and attend two residential workshops. Progress in the workplace will be monitored through regular contact between the employer, apprentice and tutors.

    Apprentices complete:

    • In-class orientation 
    • Oxford Brookes Global MBA programme - including completion of a work-based project on a strategic issue
    • A portfolio of evidence demonstrating key skills, knowledge and behaviours expected of a senior leader
    • An End Point Assessment (EPA)

    • Global Business Environment
    • Global Strategy for Innovation
    • Critical Approach to Business
    • Individual Consultancy Project
    • Personal and Professional development (not credited)

    Participants will also choose two elective modules. Please note that whilst a minimum of four modules (plus two residential workshops) must be studied in class, it is possible to study the remainder of the programme online, subject to module availability.

  • Entry requirements, application process and costs

    • The cost for the Apprenticeship  for 2019/20 entry: £18,000 (drawn down from the monthly employer levy)
    • A good undergraduate degree or GPA equivalent
    • English and Maths Level 2, equivalent to GCSE grade C or 4 or above 
    • Three years' relevant managerial or professional experience, or seven years without a degree
    • Two written references (normally one academic)
    • Employers should contact the University Apprenticeship team. We'll carry out an initial assessment to ensure the apprenticeship is suitable for the candidates and meets employer's requirements. A contract and commitment statement will need to be agreed prior to signing up an apprentice.
  • End Point Assessment (EPA)

    The End Point Assessment must demonstrate that the apprentice has the knowledge, skills and behaviours expected of a senior leader, and consists of two distinct assessment methods:

    • Project showcase based on a work-based project, including report, presentation and questioning
    • Professional discussion based on a portfolio review.
