    This page sets out information for employers and training provisions who are looking to set up a contract for service for non-integrated EPAs with Oxford Brookes University.

    Oxford Brookes University is on the ESFA Register of End Point Assessment Organisations for a number of apprenticeship standards.

    End Point Assessments on offer

    Oxford Brookes is approved to deliver End Point Assessments listed below:

    The standard is delivered and managed by the School of Education who deliver primary, secondary and post compulsory PGCEs and Assessment Only routes to QTS. Learn more about our education staff.

    Assessment will take place in the apprentice's place of work and will be conducted by an Oxford Brookes Assessor. The end point assessment for the teaching standard comprises of a lesson observation and a professional discussion. Both components will be delivered in the apprentice's place of work and will preferably be scheduled on the same day.

    Gateway requirements

    The apprentice must have achieved:

    • level 2 in Maths and English
    • An Initial Teacher Training (ITT) course delivered by a provider accredited by the National College for Teaching and Leadership
    • Obtained Qualified Teacher Status awarded by an accredited ITE provider.

    The apprentice must have also completed a portfolio of evidence compiled over the duration of the ITT.
    The employer will judge when the apprentice is ready for the end-point assessment who may gather views from the training provider and the apprentice to inform this decision. The apprentice should not be entered for the EPA until all requirements are met.

    Support and facilities provided by the employer

    The assessment will take place within the apprentices typical place of work.  The EPA assessor may require the support of the employer to schedule the EPA. A quiet room must be provided for the professional discussion and the employer must obtain consent from any service users involved in the observation. A representative from the employer should be made available to support and assess the professional discussion.  The EPA should not be interrupted, the employer should make the assessor aware of any work based policies- e.g. safeguarding requirements which the assessor needs to be aware of in advance.

    This standard will be be delivered and managed by the Oxford School of Nursing and Midwifery following approval by the ESFA. Assessment will take place in the work place and will be undertaken by an Oxford Brookes Assessor. Learn more about our Nursing staff

    The end-point assessment comprises of an observation including question and answer session as necessary and a professional discussion.

    Gateway requirements

    The apprentice must have completed:

    • A level 5 regulated qualification delivered by an institution approved by the NMC to provide pre-registration nursing.
    • Level 2 Maths and English.

    The employer will judge when the apprentice is ready for the end-point assessment who may gather views from the training provider and the apprentice to inform this decision. The apprentice should not be entered for the EPA until all requirements are met.

  • Applying for EPA Services

    Once the employer has confirmed that Oxford Brookes University is their preferred End Point Assessment Organisation, the main provider of the apprenticeship should complete the  online application form. Before you begin, please ensure:

    Applications should be submitted at least three months prior to the planned apprenticeship end date.
