School of Architecture

  • Postgraduate taught masters

Our postgraduate taught Master’s are a rich and diverse group of programmes in architecture, design, sustainability and international development. Our students come from a variety of different backgrounds and cultures which adds to the student experience and work produced.

The teaching of cultural context and international development is exceptional; the work done by the Centre for Development and Emergency Practice and the International Architecture Regeneration and Development group is internationally recognised. We embed digital literacy and a low carbon agenda into our programmes. Through our local, national and international links we remain informed of future directions and actively participate in the agenda of architecture.

The School has a lively research environment that produces world leading research that our postgraduate students can get involved with.

  • Community and career

Our graduates go onto work for leading practices across the world such as Make Architects and Scott Brownrigg. All of our postgraduate taught programmes have affiliated association with the ACSA.

As our CENDEP courses are built around practice many graduates go on to work with international development and humanitarian organisations and in senior positions. An example of a recent graduate, who is now managing rapid response teams working in public health emergencies such as Ebola around the world.
