Welcome to the School of the Built Environment BSc Real Estate Management and BA Planning and Property Development pre-offer assessment day webpage.
Thank you for your application and congratulations on reaching this stage of the selection process.
We have read your UCAS form and would like to find out more about you, so we are inviting you for a pre-offer assessment day. The pre-offer assessment day provides us with the opportunity to meet you and assess your suitability for the course. Remember, this process is not just an opportunity for us to assess you, it also forms an important part of YOUR decision making process and provides you with the opportunity to find out more about the course you have applied for and the University as a whole. Therefore we look forward to welcoming you to the School.
There are a few important questions that you will need to ask yourself prior to your visit:
Please complete the pre-offer assessment day reply form as detailed below.
Pre-offer assessment reply form
What to bring with you
Please ensure that you bring a passport sized photograph (please PRINT your name on the back).
What to wear
A smart standard of dress is expected.
Parking in the city centre is very difficult. If you are travelling by car, I would advise to make use of the city's Park & Ride facilities, details of which, including ticket and parking prices, can be found here. I would suggest using either the Thornhill or Seacourt Park and Ride stations, as the 400 bus departs from both of these stations and runs both through the city centre, and also past the Headington/ Gipsy Lane Campus of the University.
On the day
Please be advised that we do offer an optional student-led campus tour at 11:30. If you would like to attend the tour, please select this option on the Reply Form so that we know how many people will be attending. If you choose not to attend the tour please come straight to the university for 12:45.
When you arrive please report to the enquiry centre, main reception area in the John Henry Brookes Building. For a detailed schedule of the day, please refer to the links below depending upon which course (s) you applied for.
"There is growing evidence of human-induced climate change, as presented in the following report: New Scientist Ten Ways to Save the World »
Given property is a major contributor to global carbon emissions, and thus is linked to climate change, please research how the property industry in a country of your choice is looking to improve the sustainability of the built environment."
You will be asked to explain your findings for up to 5 minutes and after all group members have contributed there will be a group discussion around sustainability in the built environment, the potential issues and solutions. You will also be given the opportunity to tell us a little about yourself, such as your interests and why you are interested in studying real Real Estate Management or Planning and Property Development at Oxford Brookes.
