ANDREW KENNEDY
Construction Project Management
Before coming to Brookes I completed a Modern Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, 16 months travelling and a year managing bars. The course was good, lots of interesting buildings around. Nice area of the country.
The course is good for understanding basic law and contract obligations that you are responsible for by law, helps with management skills and prioritising. The industrial placement was tougher than I thought because you're dealing with many different characters. Good experience because you understand how things really work as text books tend to go towards the perfect scenario.
My advice for others would be stay ahead on coursework as much as you can and get the best grade you can, it will help you in the future. Be prepared for constant pressures when you get into industry.
