Conservation biologists are in agreement that without large-scale and rapid intervention tigers are likely to become extinct within a very short time period. In his Inaugural Professorial Lecture, Prof Stewart Thompson explores how we might best protect them and asks what chance do they really have in the protected areas which remain their stronghold?
