Children who are affected by developmental language disorders often also have other developmental or behavioural difficulties (e.g. autism, ADHD, dyslexia). The exact relationship between these disorders is unclear. It could be that they share genetic contributory factors or could be that one disorder puts you at an increased risk of another.
Research Question: are there genetic variants that are shared between speech and language disorders and other developmental disorders?
