  • This project uses DNA collected from families affected by developmental language disorders. We use high-throughput genetic technologies (association and sequencing) to identify genetic variants that are more common in affected individuals than expected by chance.

Research Question: are there common genetic variants that increase individual risk of speech and language disorders?

This project is in collaboration with researchers at the Evelina London Children's Hospital, University of Edinburgh, University of Manchester, Queen Margaret University College, University of Strathclyde, St George’s University, University of Oxford, Institute of Psychiatry and was funded by the Wellcome Trust and the MRC.
