Much more than the pom-poms and cheering you see in US films, cheerleading is the athletic performance of stunts, tumbles, jumps and dance. Open to both males and females, cheerleading offers a fun alternative to both dance and gymnastics, combining core strength and power with balance, coordination and graceful moves.
At Brookes we have a mixed cheerleading squad, who compete and have experienced considerable success in recent National and International Open competition, as well as performing both at sporting fixtures and functions.
With routines that incorporate elements of dance, gymnastics and stunting, cheerleading offers a physical, challenging and fun way to show and develop your skills. We welcome enthusiastic new members of all abilities both for competitions and for cheering on some of our other sports teams.
If you would like to compete for Brookes or train with the club then the best time to sign up is at our annual Sports Fair held on the Wednesday of Fresher's Week 19 September. If you can't make the Sports Fair but want to join a club then please complete this form. For all other sports club enquiries email firstname.lastname@example.org
Many sports are are included in our Brookes Active 'get into...' programme providing a low cost way to try a new sport or activity.
Each year we offer a number of sports scholarships with the support of Santander to students who show, or have shown, outstanding talent in their chosen sport.
