The Hockey Club is the largest sports club and Oxford Brookes, with 4 teams in both men’s and women’s BUCS competition and both 1st teams playing in their respective BUCS Premier Leagues. Last season, 2 teams won their league, with another team making it all the way to the cup final.

Hockey are very proud to have been titled ‘Club of the Year’ for the 2017-18 academic year, and will continue to put in their best efforts to hold onto this achievement.

Training takes place at Brookes Sport Headington, a 2 minute walk from the John Henry Brookes building, whereby there is a hockey specific synthetic pitch.

Those who just want to practice their skills with less commitment can attend the weekly small sided hockey sessions, as part of the Brookes Active ‘get into…’ scheme. This is a perfect opportunity to refine, develop or initiate skills, whilst having a friendly game of hockey with your friends.

For me, Brookes hockey has made my University experience. The socials are unreal, the hockey is competitive and the club is one big family. I am proud to say that everyone who is a part of it has enjoyed their time in the OBUHC family, and I hope to keep it that way.
