A dynamic combat sport developed in Japan, Judo is one of the few martial arts based sports in the Olympics. Using a combination of physical prowess and mental discipline, players attempt to lift and throw opponents onto the mat to score points for the win. A great workout and ideal for those wanting to learn some effective self defence techniques.
Our Judo squad compete in BUCS and other competitions but we also offer opportunities for those who are completely new to the sport through our Brookes Active 'get into...' sessions.
All training takes place in the studio at Brookes Sport Headington.
If you would like to compete for Brookes or train with the club then the best time to sign up is at our annual Sports Fair held on the Wednesday of Fresher's Week 19 September. If you can't make the Sports Fair but want to join a club then please complete this form. For all other sports club enquiries email firstname.lastname@example.org
