Swimming

Our 25m pool can be found at Brookes Sport Harcourt Hill and caters for our local Oxfordshire community alongside our Oxford Brookes students and staff.

At just over 30 degrees, our swimming pool provides an excellent facility to relax and unwind, the perfect place for children to learn how to swim and an ideal location for those looking for injury rehab.

This is also where you will find our sauna and steam room - perfect for relaxing, and is covered by your entry to the pool.

Starting January 2024, our Swim School sessions are moving from Saturday mornings to Monday afternoons/evenings. This means fewer sessions on Monday evenings but more on Saturday mornings. We appreciate your understanding and apologise for any inconvenience.

Swimming at Brookes Sport

Due to our swimming pool having a capacity of 22, ALL swimmers aged over 5 years need to either be a Brookes Sport member or be registered as a Brookes Sport, Pay As You Go (PAYG) user and be booked onto a swim session.

If you are swimming as a family, we can link your family accounts together so that the primary member is able to book everyone in for a swimming session. To do this, please email sportsmembership@brookes.ac.uk with the Member IDs of all family members.

Under 5's swim for free and do not need to be registered or booked onto a swim session.

Our child : adult swimming ratio applies to all public swimming sessions:

  • 0 to 5 years - must be accompanied in the water 1:1 ratio by a responsible adult

  • 9 to 11 years - must be accompanied in the building by a responsible adult
