#TEAMBrookes Sports Awards 2020
Friday, 08 May 2020
Welcome to the 2020 Sports Awards season!
This past April would have seen us celebrating the 36th Annual #TEAMBrookes Sports Awards in the opulent setting of the Sports Hall at the Centre for Sport in Headington! For obvious reasons we weren’t able to do that this year, but it is still important to us that we are able to celebrate the achievements of our clubs, teams and athletes over the last year.

Therefore, over the coming weeks and months we’ll be awarding those in the following categories in the same way that we would normally do on the awards night! Nominees will be announced on Mondays on the Brookes Sport website, with spotlights on each nomination following across the week on our Instagram stories, and the winner announced on Fridays across social media.
May 11th to 15th - Fresher of the Year
May 18th to 22nd - Marc Thompson Memorial Sports Personality Award
May 25th to 29th - Coach of the Year
June 1st to 5th - Small Club of the Year
June 8th to 12th - Team of the Year
June 15th to 19th - Sportsman of the Year
June 22nd to 26th - Sportswoman of the Year
June 29th to July 3rd - Club of the Year
And to kick off the awards season, we’re also very pleased to be able to announce the winners of the special Strength & Conditioning Award!
This award is given to the two students that our S&C coaches feel have put in the most work and shown the most progression and dedication to their sports and matched it with their performances in competition.
Our winners are…
Kimberley Slessor
Kim balanced a PhD alongside playing and having a very active role in 3 sports; Football, Water Polo, and Ice Hockey. She took the lead on delivering S&C to her own Water Polo team and was extremely committed during S&C sessions often turning up after late-night training for her other sports. She also led the Waterpolo team to one of their most successful seasons and was a leader within the women's football team.

Will Robertson
Will has come on leaps and bounds since first stepping into a gym. The overall dedication to his own physical preparation has always been impressive, however this year he went the extra mile and drove a team-wide initiative to begin doing extra fitness sessions which contributed to massive fitness gains. Will also balanced his academic commitments whilst playing abroad this year in Dubai
