#TEAMBrookes Success at the Midlands Conference Cup finals

Students representing Oxford Brookes University won big at the Midlands Conference Cup finals, hosted by UEA

On Wednesday 11th March, #TEAMBrookes headed en masse to the University of East Anglia. Oxford Brookes had teams from a range of sports taking part in Midlands Conference Cup finals, with our Rugby Union Men’s 3rd team contesting for the Midlands Conference Plate.

In what is a big day in the British University Sports calendar, sending eight squads from Brookes was something special, but to then finish the day with seven of those eight teams coming home as champions was unprecedented! (winning teams highlighted)

The 2019-20 season has been strong across the board for #TEAMBrookes, and with Varsity to look forward to, Oxford Brookes University has a lot to be proud of when it comes to sporting performance.

Brookes Sport and #TEAMBrookes would like to extend our thanks to both UEA and BUCS for hosting such a fantastic event, as well as our congratulations to all of the student athletes whose performances across the year have culminated in such tremendous success.

Whilst the focus was firmly on the action in Norwich, back at home, Oxford Brookes Men’s Hockey 1st team were successful in their playoff match with a 1-0 win against Sheffield Hallam to retain their place in the Premier tier of university competition.

The celebrations weren’t over just yet though, as our Rugby League team booked their place in the final of the BUCS Trophy at Big BUCS Wednesday at the end of the month with a huge 26-18 victory over Oxford University.
