MTW

Brookes Sport are calling on the Oxford Brookes Community to help raise urgent funds for millions of vulnerable children across the world impacted by Covid-19

Due to the ongoing global crisis, many vulnerable children and young people face the risk of being left behind, as organisations and support programmes are having to close their doors, cutting off safe and inclusive spaces. This often means increased exposure to violence, various forms of abuse and exploitation, and challenges to mental health. As a way to help provide uninterrupted support for young people in this difficult time, we are joining the #MoveTheWorldChallenge.

All money raised will go towards The Sport for Good Response Fund from Laureus Sport for Good, which will ensure that critical programs around the world continue to run.

The challenge is simple - Set your own goal, create your own team or join an existing one – and go!

In order to participate, follow these simple steps:

1.      Go to Move the WorldChallenge and sign up.

2.      Enter your details and join “Oxford Brookes University”, or create your own team with youown goal.

NB: If creating your own team, please add “ –OBU”  to end of your team name so that wecan monitor Oxford Brookes University teams and our combined distance andfundraising totals! Example: “Team Slade Park – OBU”

3.      Set a distance and fundraising goal.

The collective Oxford Brookes goal is totravel at least once around the world (40,075 km / 24,901 miles), but as partof a smaller team, you might want to set your own challenge – Lands End to JohnO’Groats (970km) or once around the M25 (188km)

4.      Donate (a minimum of) £8 #to participate.

Oxford Brookes are aiming to raise at least£10,000 towards this worthy cause.

Should we reach our target of £10,000, all OBU participating individuals and teams, will be invited to attend an exclusive Masterclass (via Zoom) with a Laureus Sports Legend.

Now is a crucial time for us all to contribute. By supporting the Sport for Good Response Fund, we will be making impactful contributions to ensure young people are supported now as well as in the future. So, let’s get our teams together and jointhe movement (and don’t forget to document your journey by tagging #MoveTheWorldChallenge on social media!).
