This Girl Can
November sees the return of
BUCS THIS GIRL CAN week
and at Brookes Sport we offer a number of activities and sessions that women of all abilities can get involved with. Across the week we will be putting out information on some of these activities and sports as well as highlighting some of the women
who take part in them.

Brookes Active
offers a wide range of fitness classes and recreational sport that you can get into, whatever your motivation, as well as tips on improving your wellbeing.
Meanwhile we have fantastic content from the some of the women who use Brookes Sport.
You can check out some of
Becca’s
delicious recipes for
courgette fritters and Thai salmon lettuce cups,
turkey burgers and chicken stir fry, and
stuffed peppers and protein bites, or students may be interested on hearing her tips to stay healthy as a student with a new blog post coming soon!
Brodie has told us all about
why she uses the gym, and what it was like
trying something new
by going climbing. Elizabeth gave us her
perspective on the gym, and Madeleine gave us some fantastic insights into
being part of the Netball team here at Brookes.

On Monday 20th we will be hosting a
special women’s Olympic Lifting session
in our Performance Sport Gym with guest coach, British Olympian and Commonwealth Champion, Zoe Smith. Zoe will also be talking to the group about what it’s like getting into elite sport and her experiences as a woman in such a male dominated arena.
Mondays at 8pm is also when we hold our Women's climbing session at
Brookes Climb
in the Centre for Sport.
Our featured #TEAMBrookes Game of the Week will see our Women’s
Lacrosse
1st
team host the University of Kent Women’s 1st at Harcourt Hill from 1pm. Photos of the fixture will be up on our Facebook page at some point on Thursday, or why not brave the weather to see the fixture in person. It's also going to bea cup week, with home fixtures for our women's Hockey, Tennis, Football, Netball, Volleyball, Squash, Rugby Union, Water Polo and Basketball.
