Brookes Sport to launch Women's Lifting Course

Starting at 10:00am on Saturday 16 October, Brookes Sport will be launching our own Women’s Lifting course.


Designed and coached by our very own Milly Laffey, the course will run over 8 weekly one-hour sessions.

Milly has designed the course to be the perfect introduction to weight training - whether you’ve already made a start in the gym or are a complete beginner.

Back at the end of May this year, Milly wrote an article for us on Gymtimidation - how training in the free weights area can be a daunting prospect for many women, and why everybody deserves to be able to take part in strength training - whilst earlier this week, we shared Emily’s story about how you can “ own your space” in the gym.

Those articles are a perfect complement to Milly's course, covering warmups, training terminology, lifting technique and more - most importantly, this course will help you develop your confidence when it comes to picking up free weights.

The course takes place in our gym at Harcourt Hill and costs £60 - with a special discounted rate of £40 for students. Please book directly with our reception team at Brookes Sport, and arrive for the first session in gym gear and ready to go!
