Details

Join us to discuss about inequality in occasion of the publication of a new book. Dr Andrea Bernardi will introduce the work of his colleague Pasquale Tridico, Professor of Political Economy at Roma Tre University in Italy. Prof Simonetta Manfredi and Prof Pritam Singh will discuss the contribution of this book in understanding inequality.

The issue of inequality has regained attention in the economic and political debate. This is due to both an increase in income inequality, in particular among rich countries but not only, and an increasing interest in this topic by researchers, policy makers and political movements.

In this book, the author presents figures and insights on several possible causes of inequality but focuses on the role of ‘financial capitalism’, characterized by the strong dependency of economies on the financial sector, by the intensification of international trade and capital mobility, and by the ‘flexibilisation’ of labour markets and the reduction of wage shares.

The seminar is open to everybody. Students and colleagues from Management, Economics and Politics are particularly welcome.

A sandwich lunch will be available for the first 20 to arrive. Registration is now closed.
