Details

COSINUS (Conference on Systems of Innovation and the New role of Universities) 2020 aims to bring together academics, practitioners, policymakers, and non-governmental actors to provide creative solutions for today’s global challenges. COSINIS 2020 will be held in Oxford on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th June 2020.

The Conference aims to broaden the idea of National Innovation System (NIS), which has traditionally been conceptualised as an eco-system comprising of the government, industry and academia. The impact of the community in general, and non-governmental organisations in particular, on the national innovation ecosystem has largely been ignored in the extant literature. The Conference aims to redress this imbalance.

As we come closer to the end of the first quarter of the 21stCentury, the macro environment has thrown up some unique global challenges which, we feel, can be met only by working collaboratively. The nature of these challenges necessitates not only inter-disciplinary research but also intense collaboration that cuts across institutional domains. The Conference aims to facilitate this process.

The conference will be hosted by the Centre for Business, Society and Global Challenges (BSGC), Oxford Brookes University. With its multidisciplinary research profile, the centre aims to shape the research agenda on Global Challenges and the Industrial Strategy.
