International Conference on Coaching Supervision: Supervision in a changing societal landscape

Last year’s conference explored the New Perspectives, New Directions that had emerged in the discipline since our first conference in 2011. Our two keynotes looked at ethics and the environment.

More recently, the role of coaching in the unfolding context of social, technological and environmental issues among others has come to the forefront of many people’s minds. The discipline is beginning to explore its response to issues of social justice, mental well being, environmental protection and its responsibilities in relation to the systems in which those phenomena exist. People have talked about the ‘new normal’. What is the ‘new normal’ for coaching supervision? Is it normal? How do supervisors respond?

Speakers from around the world will explore the theme through conceptual work and research, case work and experiential workshops. Three presentation streams will give you the opportunity on the content that best suits your interests and learning approach.

This year's keynote speaker is:

Louise Shepherd
How leaders, supervisors and coaches are adapting to the new societal landscape
Louise is an executive coach, group and team coach and coaching supervisor.  She is a partner at Praesta.  Louise has been coaching for over 20 years and has worked with over 100 organizations globally.  She supervises both internal and external coaches on an individual and group basis.
Louise has a professional doctorate in Coaching and Mentoring from Oxford Brookes University and an MA in professional coaching from Middlesex University. She enjoys carrying out research into aspects of leadership, coaching and supervision, writing articles and learning from and sharing with the coaching and supervision communities.

The last few years has demanded a lot from us, and the future seems likely to be equally unpredictable. What has been your experience of coaching and supervising during this period? Louise will share her research on the impact of the changing societal landscape on leaders, supervisors and coaches. She will enquire what do leaders require from their coaches and coaches from their supervisors? What is our responsibility in the system?
