Who this event is for
In anticipation of the launch of the fifth edition of the Social Institutions and Gender Index (SIGI) in 2023, the OECD Development Centre will host the virtual “Expert Group Meeting (EGM) - Rethinking the SIGI”, which will take place on 24, 25 and 26 November 2020. The virtual event will seek to strengthen the policy and research relevance and the technical robustness of the SIGI, in the context of the 2030 Agenda and in light of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and its effects on women and girls. The meeting will also offer an opportunity to engage with a large audience of SIGI users – data and gender experts, actors in the field, donor agencies, philanthropists, communication experts, policy makers as well as gender advocates. Anne Laure Humbert will be speaking in session 3.1: Does SIGI need additional indicators? Does the current SIGI framework comprehensively cover the most relevant issues pertaining to women’s and girls’ deprivation?
