Who this event is for
Please note that this event is specifically aimed at SMEs from any sector but that must have international operations or plans for internationalisation.
This webinar, presented by Dr Joanna Karmowska, will explore the challenges and opportunities for small and medium sized enterprises undertaking international expansion.
Traditional sequential models of internationalisation will be discussed, alongside the concept of “born global” firms which represent accelerated internationalisation driven by globalisation. Recent research findings on SME internationalisation will be discussed during the session; in particular a project that explored the role of strategy, decision making and network links in the internationalisation of SMEs in China, Denmark, Egypt, India, Jordan, Poland, the UAE and the UK.
The webinar will end with a discussion about the potential changes to the entrepreneurial landscape as a result of the current pandemic and will examine the barriers as well as the opportunities the context presents for entrepreneurial activity.
