The 2019 annual EDAMBA conference was be hosted at Oxford Brookes Business School between 1 - 3 September 2019.

It was a pleasure and an honour to host the European Doctoral programs Association in Management & Business Administration (EDAMBA) 2019 Annual Meeting on "Increasing diversity and inclusiveness within business school research programmes" at Oxford Brookes Business School. The event was attended by participants representing 32 different institutions from across the UK, Europe, Africa, Asia, South and North America.

The event was opened by Professor Linda King, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research and Global Partnerships, who welcomed everyone to Oxford Brookes Business School with a short account of the diverse, innovative and inclusive research currently being undertaken by the University.

The keynote speakers at the conference were Timothy S. Mescon, Executive Vice President and Chief Officer for AACSB International; Alison Mitchell, former Director of Development for Vitae and Dr Maria Hudson, University of Essex.

The annual meeting was used as a vehicle to plan future activities of the European Doctoral programs Association in Management & Business Administration (EDAMBA), with brainstorming sessions on topics such as:

  • How do you supervise diverse students
  • How do you design an inclusive PhD programme to attract and manage PhD students from diverse backgrounds
  • Training and development for multiple career paths.

Social activities such as a gala dinner at Rhodes House and a walking tour of Oxford and its colleges, were enjoyed by all.
