Monday, 20 June 2022
Lanre Olusola, one of Oxford Brookes Business School’s Doctor of Coaching and Mentoring students, has been awarded two honorary doctorates for his contribution to his profession, discipline and clients.
Olusola highlighted the
role that Oxford Brookes Business played in his coaching development and
sends his special thanks to his PhD supervisors Dr Ioanna
Iordannou and Dr Christian
Ehrlich.
Lanre
Olusola was conferred with two Honorary PhDs over the weekend in recognition of
his incredible track record of excellent performance in service to
humanity.
Olusola
first bagged an Honorary Doctoral Degree in Behavioural Change Psychology from
Escae Benin University. However, it soon became a double celebration as he was
also surprised with a Doctor of Humane Letters, Honoris Causa, from the Myles
Leadership University.
According
to the Registrar of the Escae Benin University, the PhD is due to Olusola’s
“immense contributions to the human capital and capacity development industry,
also because he revolutionised the coaching industry in Africa with the OLCA
academy; having spent over two decades building great businesses and leaders in
different sectors of the economy in the world.”
For the
Governing Council of the Myles Leadership University, Olusola was decorated
with a Doctor of Humane Letters because of “his long-standing contribution in
the areas of youth development, coaching, behavioural change development,
business development, leadership, and philanthropy”.
Recently
Olusola also won the ‘Coach of the Year’ award from the Africa Board for Coaching,
Consulting & Coaching Psychology (ABCCCP) award held in Johannesburg, South
Africa. He was chosen ahead of 7 nominees from hundreds of nominations across
Africa.
The
organisers shared that the Africa Coaching and Consulting Award is given to
individuals or organisations who have made inspirational contributions to the
life coaching industry in Africa.
"ABCCCP
was looking for individuals, corporates, organs of state, and academic
institutions who have made excellent contributions to the successful growth of
coaching in Africa,” - said Dr Mongezi C Makhalima, Chairperson of the ABCCCP
Board. “We found that no person deserves the recognition more than Lanre
Olusola. The Award is an apt recognition of his personal input into the overall
success,” he added.
With over
two decades of professional experience, Olusola is popularly referred to as
Africa’s premier life coach who pioneered the life coaching industry in Nigeria
and created West Africa’s first wholly integrative coaching academy, the
Olusola Lanre Coaching Academy (OLCA).
