I am a Principal Lecturer (teaching, learning and student experience) based in Oxford Brookes Business School but currently also on secondment two days a week to the Oxford Centre for Staff and Learning Development (OCSLD). In the latter role I am a tutor on the PCTHE (Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education).
In the Business School I am the School lead in relation to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education. My undergraduate teaching is focused on (1) sustainability and (2)employability. My postgraduate teaching is centred on the CIPD approved Masters in HRM programmes.
Also Liaison Manager for the Dual Degree (European Business Studies) offered with the University of Applied Sciences, Regensburg, Germany.
Member of the university's Inclusive Learning and Teaching Steering Group, as well as of the School's Athena Swan Self-Assessment Team. Also a mentor on the HEA Professional Standards Framework pathway run by OCSLD.
My teaching focuses on HRM at PG level and sustainability and employability at UG level.

Jonathan joined the Business Faculty in 2003 following earlier careers in teaching, social services as well as marketing, HR and general management in the non-profit sector, most recently at the NGOs Care International and Oxfam. He is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.His key areas of teaching interest are in relation to HRM, employability, environmental sustainability and responsible business practices. He leads undergraduate modules on environmentally sustainable business and employability and at postgraduate level he principally teaches on the HR strand of the Faculty's Professional Development Programmes.
Jonathan's doctoral thesis at Lancaster University focused on the engagement of UK business schools with the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME). He has other educational and management qualifications from the universities of Cape Town, Witwatersrand, South Africa, London, Durham and Oxford Brookes. His research interests include: responsible management education, PRME, the use of institutional theory in organisational analysis and employability n the UK non-profit (Third) sector.
