Oliver Wall, a combined honours student (Film studies and Business Management), is undertaking an ambitious venture by organising his own film festival.
Oliver got the idea to hold his own festival after visiting the site of The Artisan distillery in Headington, Oxford. Oliver hopes The Hide and Seek film festival will bring families and generations together to enjoy classic films such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The films are nostalgic and important to many people’s childhood, and the weekend promises to be a joyous event for all.
Oliver, who is being helped by fellow student Kit Dickson Smith, has come up against numerous challenges having never organised such an event before. However, he has enjoyed the experience and hopes the festival will give something back to the communities and families of Oxford. If all goes well, Oliver hopes to make the film festival an annual event and has said that despite the difficulties he has faced he would do it all again.
The Hide and Seek film festival is being held on the 4 and 5 May 2018.
