Overview

Our mission as Oxford Brookes Business School (OBBS) is to ‘Inspire minds with insight and ambition’. Our doctoral students sit at the heart of this mission. The School is now accepting applications from outstanding candidates for a doctoral studentship at the research centre Oxford Regional Innovation Enterprise Lab (ORIEL).

The Oxford Regions, Innovation and Enterprise Lab (ORIEL) specialises in enterprise, entrepreneurship and regional economic development research and engagement, focussing on and addressing the needs of public, private and third-sector stakeholders. By linking intellectually-led questions and practice-based solutions, this thematic area brings together academic insight and its application to policy and practice.

Members of ORIEL are engaged in local, national and international research on a range of issues, such as regional economic development, entrepreneurial ecosystems, entrepreneurship, enterprise and innovation, social enterprise, start-ups, SME growth and performance, and internationalisation.
