Foundation Degree (Arts) in Music Production

This course is designed for students who are looking for a career in the music industry and have a strong interest in music performance, music composition and production, studio recording, live sound and music software design. The course gives students a range of both practical and theoretical skills that can be utlised in the creative industries and offers two alternative pathways: music performance and music technology.

The foundation degree in Music Production is available at Bridgwater and Taunton College, which is an associate partner college of Oxford Brookes University.

Tuition fees

Home/EU - full time off-campus fee: 2019/20: £7,350

Home/EU - part time off-campus fee: 2019/20: £3,750

International - full time off-campus fee: 2019/20: £9,000

Specific entry requirements

GCSE: At least four GCSEs at grades A*- C (new grades 4-9) including Maths and English or L2 Equivalent.

A minimum of 48 UCAS tariff points from a full Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area.

Mature applicants with relevant experience who do not have the stated entry requirements are encouraged to apply.

Applicants to the programme will be required to attend an interview and provide either a portfolio of work or complete an audition dependent on the pathway being applied for.

All candidates must present a show reel portfolio of practical work and a 500-1000 piece of work which will be confirmed before interview.

English language requirements

If your first language is not English, you must also demonstrate that your level of English is acceptable, by achieving a score in a recognised test such as:

  • British Council IELTS, normally minimum level 6.0 overall with a minimum of 6.0 in the reading and writing components.
