Many of the staff in the School are engaged in research and consultancy for industry. Oxford Brookes strives to provide high quality research for the real world, employing scientists and professionals who are at the forefront of their fields and ready to share their expertise and build on the excellent links the university has established industry.
Oxford Brookes University is currently working with Italian motorsport organisation Dallara on a new electric powered car for a new Formula Club-E series.
As well as the consultancy and research carried out in the research centres, the School has carried out contract testing and consultancy for local and national companies for many years.

The School is a provider of research and technical services to Oxfordshire-based SMEs through the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce's Innovation Support Vouchers scheme. The scheme allows local SME's to apply for up to £5,000 to develop their organisations with the help of Oxford Brookes.
To be eligible for the vouchers, clients will need to be SMEs meeting the formal definition (fewer than 250 employees, turnover less than Euro 50 million, not a subsidiary of a non-SME) operating in Oxfordshire. The client may be a company or not incorporated (sole trader, partnership). They will need to confirm their eligibility with Thames Valley Chamber. Vouchers need to be spent by 31 March 2015. Voucher will be for 50% of cost of services from a minimum £500 (total spend £1,000) to a maximum £5,000 (total spend £10,000).
