Problem

The chapel lost heat rapidly through a poorly insulated building. Although the independent gas heaters were powerful enough to keep the building warm despite this heat loss, they were very expensive to run.

Solution

As part of a larger building project, which includes a replacement heating system, the chapel has been fully insulated, both in the ceiling and by dry lining the walls. Mineral wool to a depth of 300mm has been installed in the roof space and insulated boards have been fixed to the walls.

Result

It is anticipated that 19.4kW of heating capacity will be required from the new heating system, compared to more than 40kW of capacity in the old heating system, meaning heating costs will be more than halved.
