A rural Oxfordshire industrial estate, with livery stables and industrial units felt water use for the site was high and could indicate a major leak at the premises.
EiE provided advice on calculating average water use based on the number of employees, residents and livestock at the site. Information on out-of-hours monitoring and measuring of water use was also provided to identify any potential problems at the site.
The site found that there was no leaks, but that livestock and site users were consuming more water than would be expected for the size of site. EiE helped formulate a strategy for encouraging users to reduce consumption, and to consider grey water use for certain activities at the site.
