MA International Business, Culture and Languages†

The unique combination of business, language and politics within the course is what really attracted me and I particularly enjoyed the interactive lectures. The quality of teaching is very high, with lots of feedback and guidance

I graduated from the University of Bucharest, where I studied a BA in Modern Languages and Literature. I also worked as a translator, and then for the United Nations Youth Association in Romania, before deciding to study the MA in International Business, Culture and Language at Oxford Brookes.

I wanted to come to Brookes because of the combination of modules that this masters offers, the opportunity to go for an internship, and because of the location and academic reputation of Oxford Brookes.

The unique combination of business, language and politics within the course is what really attracted me and I particularly enjoyed the interactive lectures. The quality of teaching is very high, with lots of feedback and guidance.

Life in Oxford is very interesting, because you discover new things each day: there are many museums to visit, but there are also a lot of events worth going to. The most interesting thing is meeting so many people from different countries.

Everything in Oxford is inspiring: a combination of ancient and modern, Oxford is an academic city, multicultural, and a city which inspires you to be the best and aim high.

My course will definitely help my future career because it has offered me an understanding of business but also of the European Union. Furthermore, this course has helped improve my ability to work in a team, and, by being in a multicultural environment, I have acquired important intercultural skills.

I have already secured a job at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where I will be working as Project Assistant within the Business School. I want to go to Asia, learn about Asian business, then come back to Europe and focus on EU-China business. I believe that this experience plus the combination of my business skills, intercultural skills, linguistic skills and teamwork skills will make me attractive to potential employers.

Brookes is an inspiring university, very modern, and the EBCL course is unique. I’m glad I chose Oxford Brookes for my MA!

This course has since been renamed to MA International Business and Intercultural Communication.
