We’re dedicated to supporting students, staff and recent graduates in the early stages of their business journey. With our mentoring programme, we work with carefully selected enterprise experts to provide mentoring and coaching to aspiring entrepreneurs.

The scheme is perfect for students and recent graduates with little or no business experience – we’re just looking for genuine desire and commitment.

    Mentoring programme

Our mentoring programme is designed to give new entrepreneurs the guidance and expertise needed to develop their business or project.

We will offer up to 480 hours of expert mentoring in 2018-19 and this can be in the form of 1:1 meetings as well as business clinics managed by experts.

All of our mentors are entrepreneurs or industry professionals, so they’re more than qualified to give the valuable knowledge and support that’s needed. We regularly recruit new mentors to the scheme too, so if you’d like to get involved as a mentor, please contact us for more information.

The scheme offers expertise in these areas:

    • Tech/Digital
    • International Trade
    • Accounting, Legal & IP
    • Marketing & PR
    • Social Enterprise
    • Pitching & Personal Development
    • Investment

When joining the scheme, you will also have access to our online mentoring platform to exchange with like-minded student entrepreneurs and connect with the mentors.

The scheme runs separately to the other support available at Oxford Brookes University and comes at no extra cost.

    Apply for a mentor

You will automatically be assigned a mentor if you are selected to be a finalist in the FUEL Awards competition. If you do not meet this criteria but still wish to receive mentoring support, email enterprise-support@brookes.ac.uk to express your interest.

    Apply to be a mentor

A mentor would be expected to contribute up to 12 hours of mentoring per year in exchange for a compensation. We regularly recruit new mentors on the scheme so if you wish to find out more about the benefits of joining our scheme, please email enterprise-support@brookes.ac.uk.
